he Child`s Health History Form must be filled by a pediatrician or a doctor of a specialized polyclinic service for teenagers with a complete checkup of a child’s state of health.

All children on arrival in “Artek” pass medical survey. Those who cannot stay at the camp due to the poor state of health and those who do not have a properly completed  medical card ARE SENT BACK HOME with an accompanying person at the expense of the organization or the person who had directed them to “Artek”. A note is sent to the medical institution that filled the medical card.

Children should be vaccinated with provision for age and epidemiological situation of residing.

(“Artek’s” Chief Doctor’s Explanation: If a child does not have a certain type of vaccination, it should be marked so in medical card. Actually it is more important for us to have trustworthy information about what inoculations to the child were made, but not just the presence of vaccinations.)

 It is absolutely prohibited to send a child to “Artek” if he(she) suffers from one or several of the following conditions:

• All forms of tuberculosis, of various organs and systems;
• Epilepsy, other convulsive attacks and their equivalents;
• Acute mental diseases and reactant mental conditions;
• Diabetes, thyreotoxicosis;

A child may be sent to “Artek”, but not earlier than in 5 years after the subsiding of the acute process, for children having the following diseases:

• Rheumatism, in active period and in the period between attacks (before removal from clinic control list.);
• Acquired and congenital cardiovascular conditions, including post-surgery;
• Hypertonic illness;
• Diseases of blood and hemopoietic organs;
• Bronchiectatic illnesses, bronchial asthma;
• Stomach and duodenal ulcer;
• Acute nephritis, pyelonephritis, chronic nephritis, renointestinal illness, congenital anomalies of the kidneys accompanying with infringement of their function;

It is acceptable that children may be sent to “Artek” only after clinical remission at:

• Everything which are not listed above, diseases in the acute period;
• All infectious, parasitic diseases of skin (scabies, mycotic affection, etc.);

While sending children re-convalescent after suffering an infectious disease, one should be guided by corresponding Orders of the Ministry of Health.

Children with pediculosis affection, should pass sanitary cleansing.

In case of a child illness “Artek” provides him (her) with meals and health services until recovery, independently of shift termination date.

Time of sending the child back home after recovery is coordinated with the organization which had sent the child to "Artek", and the parents.
